UK Trade Marks

Before applying to register a Trade Mark, we strongly recommend that a full search of the UK Trade Mark records is carried out, to identify any prior conflicting registered rights which may block your path.

We will then give you a commercial analysis of the search results and recommendations for your next steps.

If we encounter any objections during the course of the prosecution of the Trade Mark, whether it be from the Trade Marks Registry or from a third party, we will deal with these on your behalf.

Once the Trade Mark is registered, you have exclusive rights in it, as well as the right to prevent the use of a confusingly similar mark in certain circumstances. If this does happen, we can give you the practical advice you will need on infringement rights, and offer you full litigation support.

A UK Trade Mark registration is valid for 10 years, but it may be renewed indefinitely for 10 year periods on payment of a renewal fee. We deal with your renewal in-house, enabling us to retain full knowledge of your Trade Mark portfolio and ensure we give you timely and appropriate commercial advice when needed.
