International Trade Marks
Foreign National Registrations
Many countries, such as Canada, South Africa and New Zealand do not belong to any international registration schemes. In these cases, registration is only available by means of a national Trade Mark application in the individual country concerned.
It may even be preferable, sometimes, to file nationally rather than through multinational systems. Local legislation governs the procedure and practice, so it is usually necessary to obtain expert guidance from a preferred and trusted foreign Trade Mark attorney.
We have an extensive network of such attorneys whom we can instruct on your behalf to prosecute and maintain foreign national registrations.
